Brian G. Batsch, ACA, BFA

Brian's surrealistic paintings are meticulously executed in acrylic with highly skilled realistic precision. His works are beautiful, surprising and thought-provoking.

Painting for 30 years, Brian graduated from the distinguished Alberta College of Art and Design in 1969. He studied fine art at the University of Calgary, pursuing a rare double major in painting and drawing. He graduated with a BFA in 1976. From 1976 - 1981, Brian worked as an educator and later Director of Visual Communications for the Medicine Hat College.

Brian has been selected by the prestigious Royal Canadian Academy of Art for national shows. He has pieces in public collections like the Glenbow Museum, the Devonian Collection, the Muttart Collection, the Calgary Allied Arts Foundation, the University of Calgary and the Medicine Hat College Collection.

His public work is showcased in City Halls, International Airports and performing arts organizations, like the Jack Singer Concert Hall.

He has continued to pursue a studio practice maintaining his commitment to painting through private commissions since his departure as an art educator in 1982.

Unique in colour, form and detail, the artwork expresses his travels and fascination with the many cultures and religions worldwide.
